Our staff received an urgent call asking us to immediately rescue a dog. The location was Itabashi Ward, Tokyo. The client's company had gone bankrupt and they were no longer able to buy a dog. As we continued to talk, the client said that if they couldn't rescue the dog themselves, they would take it to a public health center. The staff were genuinely angry at the client's irresponsible words. The dog was a Ryukyu dog... a rare breed that is designated as a natural monument by Okinawa Prefecture.

Since the word "health center" was mentioned, we must provide protection as soon as possible.
Friday, March 11
Protection begins at 1pm. The protection staff work in separate teams, with the staff who carry out the protection and the staff who prepare to accept the animals into the shelter.
We are rushing to prepare a large dog enclosure to accommodate dogs at the shelter.
Finally, a black dog arrived at the Funabashi shelter. We were relieved to be able to rescue him. Thanks to the Itabashi shelter staff for all their hard work.

One of the staff members named him Kyu-chan after the Ryukyu dog.
